Atlantis to host ME WTA Awards

Atlantis will host the venue for 2008 ME - World Travel Awards ceremony on The Palm, on Tuesday October 28. More than 500 Middle East travel and tourism companies and organisations from across the region from every industry sector have been nominated with 26 overall Middle East categories.
Competing for the leading air carrier in the region, Emirates Airlines, Etihad Airways, Middle East Airlines, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian Airline and Saudi Arabian Airlines are looking forward for the event.
Nominations for Middle East's Leading Beach Resort includes: Al Hamra Fort Hotel and Beach Resort, United Arab Emirates - Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers and the Danat Resort Jebel Dhanna (Abu Dhabi) Intercontinental Al Bustan Palace (Oman) Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, The Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Royal Mirage (Dubai Hotels) Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa; Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort (Fujairah) Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort (Oman) and the Sheraton Coral Beach Hotel & Resort (Lebanon). Other categories include airports, car hires, conference centres, cruise liners, destinations, hotels, hotel brands and private jet charter.
Nominations for leading travel agency are Al Rais Travel, Alshamel, Dnata, Sharaf Travel (Dubai) Amiral Tours & Travel, Jordan; Regency Travel & Tours (Qatar); Salem Travel Agency (Abu Dhabi) National Travel & Tourist Agency -SNTTA (Sharjah). There are 11 nominations competing for leading tourism development projects. Award Winners will be selected through a voting by agents and travel professionals in the ME region and from around the globe.
ME WTA Awards 2008 will be one of the biggest events hosted by Atlantis since its launch in September this year.
