Let's hope that the sharks of Emirates seas will live longer and will owe the decree passed by Ministry of Environment and Water, limiting hunting sharks in the Emirates waters. This decree was passed earlier this week.
The $71.00 dish is now removed from the menu of Abu Dhabi's Shangri-La Hotel and according to the hotel spokesman it will soon disappear from the menus of its group restaurants.
Sharks were brutally hunted for finning - the process involves removing the shark fins and later leaving it to destiny where the fish hardly lives further. This dish was under strong criticism of conservationists who rightly opposed the act of hunting down sharks just for their dorsal fins.
